Peace and Blessings Friends and Family of Flava News,

Update on Flava News…

Flava News was established under my business Flava Coffee House about 3 years ago. After closing Flava Coffee House in June of 2008 (Built in June of 2003)...I went into full time Artist Cheerleader mode...connecting with and committing to promoting Artists from all walks of life, here in my hometown of Seattle, WA to across the United States. www.flavanews.ning.com sat without any activity for a year or more. Since I had this site already set up, I decided to give a big push in January of this year and see what might take place. The response has been overwhelming with Artists and Lovers of the arts from all walks of life. Not only are there members from Seattle, WA and from across the United States but Flava News has gone Global.

Through Flava News, the goal was to bring together those of like minds to network, process through the struggles of being an artists, share our talents, to helping each other spread the word about the many amazing and worth while projects each of us have going on. We have a variety of online radio hosts to online magazines that have helped to support and feature several of Flava News Family Members.

I personally have tried to commit to blasting out the active Flava News Family Members pages, blogs, discussions and fliers amongst the members, to my facebook, myspace, and twitter page, along with to my local and national mass email lists. I tried to do this on a daily basis but if not at least on a weekly basis. Members are encouraged to post all info they would like to make public. Including pictures/fliers, audio, video, written pieces, to adding discussions, blogs, event and of course their other sites and contact information.

Many of you are aware that back in October of 08 along with DEHITMEN we attempted to organize a National Youth Outreach Movement...with good intentions and hard work, we stepped out on faith, in hopes to turn this into a reality. Then reality set in and with life getting in the way along with struggling to get the financial support to cover the operations of the movement. The hard decision was made to put the Joseph's Vision Movement on hold as a group and for us, as individuals to get involved in our own communities in finding the opportunities to support and uplift our youth.

Through Flava News, it has allowed me to continue to support youth events around the United States and locally by reposting for others and updating you on the events that I am able to participate in here in Seattle. This page is called "Flava of Expression Youth Mentor" Anything that uplifts our youth, can be posted there, along with concerns.

I also have a page that I call "Seattle Flava." This page features events and artists from the Seattle Area. I have committed to creating a weekly event online listing, featuring the events taking place in Seattle between Monday to Sunday of each week. At this point, I am only posting the events that I have been receiving on face book, but am open to receiving event info by email at flavanews@yahoo.com.

Along with the Youth and Seattle page, I have a page set aside to only post my Flava News Book Reviews, which I need to commit to staying current with. Through Flava News Book Reviews, I presently offer free honest book reviews with a flavaful twist. In the near future I will also be offering some additional promotional services at an affordable price which will be offered only to Authors that receive a favorable review from Flava News.

As I put the final touches to my business plan for Flava News, working with the Department of Revenue in switching Flava Coffee House into Flava News and preparing for my meeting with my business mentor, I decided that I would share with you what I have been busy working on and what my short term and long term goals are for Flava News.

I am going to ask Flava News Members and any others that are willing and able to pledge an affordable amount monthly or to give a one time in kind gift towards the operations of Flava News. This money would be used towards some of the following expense:

1) Flava News will be transferred over into an official website, obtaining it's own domain name along with the ability to obtain our own advertisement sponsors. The site will remain the same page set up through Ning but upgrading to a more business functional social network site. There is a monthly cost to be able to transfer Flava News to have these capabilities.

2) To cover the expense of the Flava News Global Monthly NewsLetter account with Constant Contact. I will be creating a monthly newsletter that will go out to a very large email list that is local, national and international. In this Newsletter, we will be featuring at least 4 different artists, their projects or products. Listing of daily Online Radio Shows with clickable links, listing of financial sponsors and advertisements sponsors with clickable links if applicable. The emails are a combination of my list and lists of some of my colleagues to build a larger readership and support base.

Side Note: If there is an interest, I will create a Seattle newsletter that will feature local artists and events…with venue reviews, local sponsors, advertisement and more…

3) As a business owner I sold several local and national artists products and will be starting a Flava News Online Store...with the products left from Flava Coffee House, I will also have the ability to offer you another option to sell your products at an affordable split.

Some of the other monthly expenses Flava News has includes:

1) Internet Service
2) Phone Service
3) Printing
4) Postage
5) Transportation
6) Advertisement
7) Time

* I have signed up to be a Blog Talk Radio Host, in case in the future, we at Flava News find the need and desire to step out in that direction.
* I have signed up for the conference call service where we can have up to 250 people on a conference call. If we desire to set up a conference call meeting.
* I will make myself available online as much as possible by chat or on skype. My skype account is "ladyflava206." My skype is always open as long as I am online. I find this to be an effective tool in communicating from the computer. My cell phone is connected to facebook and flavanews@yahoo.com.

In addition to what I have listed above, I have also provided:

1) Artist and Business Consultations
2) Fliers
3) Research
4) Creation of Artist Bios and Media Kits/Press Kits
5) Set up interviews
6) Connected artists with resources

Outside of what I have currently been providing for Artists…my long term goal is to be able to:

1) Host some local, Seattle events to raise money to provide support for a youth organizations.
2) To host artists to come to Seattle to have the opportunity to perform and sell their products through a local venue or to set up an actual Flava News Event.
4) Establish a solid publishing, editing, design, marketing and distribution team for print, audio and video productions.
3) To have the ability to travel and participate with you in your events outside of Seattle.
4) Create a sponsor based financial foundation that Artists can apply for grants to help with the expense to complete a project.
5) To grow to the point where the business would require Flava News to obtain a physical location. Which would allow for further growth and ability to hire a team to better serve the Flava News Artist Community.

The beauty of Flava News at this time, is that it does not require a building to work from, which keeps down on the operational expense.

Again, Flava News welcomes any and all financial support. You can make a pledge payment at www.paypal.com by going to the “send money” button and using flavanews@yahoo.com as the send to email. Please indicate if this is a one time pledge or if you would like to be set up on a reoccurring monthly billing system for a set amount. If you do not have the capability to do paypal and wish to financial support Flava News you can email me to get my mailing address. Just think, if all the Flava News Family Members were to donate $1.00 each per month what a difference that would make in Flava News being self sufficient.

Another source of income I will be pursuing is, financial sponsorship from local event promoters for time spent in posting online for them, in person and through the Flava News site (and local newsletter.)

Also, Flava News will be seeking investors/sponsorship. I would also like to ask if you would be willing to write a letter in my behalf, expressing what you have witnessed in person or over the internet on how I am committed to supporting the Arts Community. I feel this could be a good tool for me to use when approaching potential investors to show them why they should consider Flava News a good and solid business to get involved with. You can email this letter to me at flavanews@live.com.

Please let me know if you have received the July 09 newsletter that was sent out on July 25th. If you haven’t I can send it out again. Let me know your thoughts and how I might tweak it. This was my first attempt, but I am very pleased with the Artist that were featured. I am sure that I could have done something different or better, so know your input is welcome. If you did not receive the newsletter please make sure you add these 2 email address to your account, to keep it from going into “spam“: flavanews@live.com (my business correspondence email account) and flavanews@yahoo.com (my most active account.) If you are a member of Flava News you will automatically be places on the list to receive the Flava News Global Newsletter. If you are not a member and are interested in receiving a copy of the newsletter, please forward me your name, email address and state where you reside. Again, please make sure you add flavanews@live.com and flavanews@yahoo.com to your email list.

Flava News was created by Lady Flava but built on your talents and commitment. Now, I invite you to take it a step further and invest in the source that believes in supporting the Arts…We at Flava News not only talk the talk but walk the walk. Thank You in advance for your financial support and written support towards building a stronger Flava News foundation. Now let’s grow the vision and spread the word.

Flava is a taste, a style, a feeling…What’s your flava? FLAVA NEWS
